Matilda (Special Edition) $4.00 Danny DeVito’s adaptation of the Roald Dahl book for children is mostly just fine, helped along quite a bit by the charming performance of Mara Wilson (Mrs. Doubtfire) as young Matilda, a brilliant girl neglected by her stupid, self-involved parents (DeVito and Rhea Perlman). Ignored at home, Matilda escapes into a world of reading, exercising her mind so much she develops telekinetic powers. Good… |

Gettysburg (Widescreen Edition) $2.85 Three days in the summer of 1863, at a place called Gettysburg. Although it received a theatrical release, this four-hour depiction of the bloody Civil War battle was shot as a made-for-television film. But no taint of cheapness or shortcuts should stick to this magnificent picture (well, except maybe for those phony-looking mustaches). Based on Michael Shaara’s book The Killer Angels, this film t… |

Sesame Street: 25th Birthday – A Musical Celebration! $6.00 Yes, Virginia, there was a Sesame Street before the Age of Elmo. This 1993 collection highlights the role of music in the long-running series from Children’s Television Workshop, and reminds us that such Jim Henson creations as Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, and Ernie and Bert were once part of a true ensemble of Muppet superstars. Nothing against Elmo, of course: kids adore him a… |

The Lottery?
I will be writing a reaction paper on The Lottery by Shirley Jackon.Should I analyze about social class or rebellion?
Social Class>It seems that important men of the village have control of the lottery.Mr.Summers owns the village’s largest business,Mr.Graves the post master, and Mr.Martin who owes the grocery producing to 300 residents. The lottery box stays one year in Mr.Graves barn and one year under his post office,It stays one year in Mr.Martins grocery and Mr.Summers is its official; yearly. The lottery also takes place in the village square between the post office and the bank.Buildings wich represent government and finance where Summers,Graves,
and Martins derieve. They have control over the vilage economically, politically and administer the lottery.
Rebellion>Tessie is late to the lottery. When she realizes that
she has the black dot she is not happy.Would she felt the same if it where someone else?
Should i write about Social Class or Rebelion? PLEASE OPINIONATE
One of the few favorites I had in lit. If I were you, I’d write about the Social Class since you seem to have more ideas about that already.
