It is the april 14th “sons of Cinema” show. The camera panned to him in the audience; right in the first few minutes of show exactly right after seacrest introduced the top 7 and they all came on stage together.
That guy is an actor. I’m seen him in the Sopranos. His name is Steve Van Zandt. Look under filmography. He even has the American Idol appearance listed. He was also a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street band.
