so much for dyeing the polyester but……….?
So i cant dye my pure polyester valances but I have a set of pink panels , they are 70% polyester and 30% cotton , does this change anything ? can i dye them since they are a blend , ? as long as the color Im going for is darker than the original pink ? ( going for very very dark blue?and then i swear ill stop with the polyester dye questions!!!!
Again, you’re dealing with polyester. If you decide to give it a try, make sure you keep stirring the hot dye bath while dyeing. I’ve dyed many things and have used the Rit help phone number for questions like this and the answer regarding polyester is always something like we can’t guarantee good results with that type of fabric. From my own experience, I can tell you, sometimes it works and sometimes it won’t.
I definitely prefer the ‘bucket’ method over the washing machine method for 2 reasons. One being that you have more control over the water temperature and dyeing procedure and the other reason is it’s much easier to clean up. Good luck with those curtains.
