what is the best way to make a diamond shaped Valance Curtain?
It depends, how wide is the window? Do you want one centrally hanging diamond, or a repeating pattern? Valances are usually around a third of the height of the window.
When calculating fabric needs remember to include a 4 inch casing for the top, an inch and a half for the hem,and 1 inch for each side hem.
When you get Your Fabric, you may have to piece several lengths together to get your width. Once you have that, fold it in half, and make a pencil mark about 6 to 8 inches up from the bottom on the cut sides, depending on how much angle you want to the diamond. Then make a straight line from that point to the bottom of the folded side. Hem all around according the the above measurements, give it a good press and hang it up.
