Wedding decor Question: Venue is approximately 3000 sq feet or so… not sure?
How much tulle should I buy to decorate ceiling? I’m using 3 colors… orange, lavender, and ivory… Should I have 50 yards of each… 30… idk… I want the ceiling to have a lot of drapes not just a little bit looking cheap. This is allowed, no fire/real candles will be used. Owner will put up tulle for $100.

OK – let’s say the room is 60′ x 50′. If you are hanging it along the 60′ length ONCE, take 60 x 1.25 (for the swag) OR 1.5 (for a swag and “pool” at the corners). 60 x 1.5 = 90 feet divided by 3 = 30 yards. same for width. 50′ x 1.5 = 75 divide by 3 = 25 yards. So, 55 yards just to make an “X” pattern. If you want to swag all 3 colors together, it would be 55 x 3 = 165 yards. But, measure your room. Be sure to use the 108″ width tulle and it would probably look best to have two swags down the long side, one across the short. So, doing that with all 3 colors together – would be 255 yards or 85 yards of each color. If you want to have it swag several times, definitely use the 1.5. Tulle is pretty cheap and if you buy it Hobby Lobby, watch for their 40% off coupons. Some places, if you buy the entire bolt, you also get a discount, so call around.
