what is the best and easist way to clean mini blinds?
i have about 23 windows in my home. has anyone ever tryed the dust cleaner used on silk plants and floral arrangements?
I work for a house-cleaning company and I clean mini blinds every day.
First try a Swiffer. Go one blind at a time (yes, this is time consuming) and wipe it across up to the string. Once all the way to the bottom, run the Swiffer down the strings to pick up left-over dust.
If the dust seems too caked on to come off with just a Swiffer, then I would advise either washing them or wet-dusting them.
Washing them should take place in the bathtub, one blind at a time once again. They should not sit in water because this can damage them.
When I wet-dust, I have access to microfiber dust cloths. I then spray the cloth with just a soap/water solution and sometimes have to go over the blinds multiple times.
Honestly, mini blinds, in my opinion are not worth the time and effort of the up-keep. I would either invest in some wooden blinds or washable curtains or wash your current blinds thoroughly and make sure you have the time to dust them regularly (or pay someone else to do so).
