Lined Pole
I want to put new line on my pole, is there a way I can do that by myself, without help from another person?

I know I can take it to a bait or tackle shop and either have them do it for free if I buy the line there, or pay them to do it with my own line – my local bait shop offers both of those, but I have a new spool of the line I want to use already, and would really like to just go ahead and do it myself, without waiting for my husband or a friend to help me, or taking the time to go all the way to the bait store. Isn’t there a way I can do it without other help?

I read your question and I can’t answer it. But I wanted you to know that my BEST ANSWER percentage is up to 12% now. Thank you for inspiring me when we last “spoke”.
I’ll write again in January…. bye bye.

TWO DAYS LATER… I’m going to venture an answer, even though I never go fishing. First cut the old line off the reel spool with a razor blade. 30 seconds work. THEN attach a small eletric motor from an old kitchen mixer, or power drill with a slow speed. Attach the motor shaft to the reel’s winding shaft with a flexible rubber hose to prevent vibration and direct contact.
Start the motor on a slow speed, occupy yourself with another task while keeping an eye on the finished winding. VOILA! you can save the old motor for the next line changing….
Good luck.
