How to soften stiff fabric?
I made some valances and the main fabric is really soft but the backing or lining is really stiff so when I put it up, it looks so stiff and ugly. So I was wondering how you could soften up the fabric.

Some fabrics are just stiff when manufactured. They are made that way. Lining should never be stiff.
If washing and adding fabric softener doesn’t work, you used the wrong fabric for the lining.
