How can I make travel a lot less stressful on my kitten?
She flips out and cries when we put her in her carrier- it’s big enough for her to move around and be comfortable, it even has a velvet cushioned bottom so it should be pretty comfy for her. But whenever she goes in there she cries and scratches and pushes herself against the mesh windows- she even pooped in the carrier on the way home from the vets. I have to go on a plane with her soon, how can I make this experience less traumatic for her?
you need to give her a sedative for a plane ride. obviously this animal does not do well with the enclosed space (would you?)
I used to work for an airline and I cannot stress enough the importance of having your vet give your animal something before you fly with them. it can be extremely traumatizing to them if they aren’t sedated. I saw a dog claw all his nails off trying to get out of a cage because the owners thought sedating it was inhumane (so instead they let the animal go insane on an airplane and injure itself)
