Will 2 “HD 4870×2″ in CrossfireX be bottlenecked by my CPU?
Current CPU and Build:
AMD Phenom X4 9950 BE at 2.6ghz (Water-Cooled)
Coolmax 1350B-1350W PSU
8gb of DDR2-800 RAM
A single HD 4870×2
Windows Vista 64bit
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe Mobo
I am thinkin of buying another 4870×2, I was wondering if it would be bottlenecked or not before I decide rather or not to buy another 4870×2.
Technically the bottleneck will be your ram. Your processor is able to use 1066mhz ram and you are using less than that. You still have an awsome system, just letting you know where the real bottleneck is. The only better motherboards out there right now for your CPU is the 790GS, because they have the SB750 southbridge. Other than that you are on top of the world right now…. I still don’t understand the fact of water cooling a CPU that is running stock speeds.
