Are NHL Jersey Colours Going to Switch Back?

As we hockey fans observed a few years back, all NHL teams switched their home and away jerseys (my hunch is because of merchandising). Anyway, does anyone have a lead on when they’ll switch the jerseys back?

I so much prefer having the white at home!

Oh, and PS: Go Leafs Go! :P

First of all, if you are older than 38, then you realize that the NHL has already switched back. For the NHL’s first 53 years, teams wore their colours at home. For the last 6 seaosns, teams have wore their colours at home. For a 33 year period in between, teams wore white at home.

So 59 years of colour at home
33 years of white at home.

So, for those of us old enough to know………the NHL has already switched back.

As for ‘merchandising’ being the reason………….the percentage of colour jerseys sold is the same today (68%) as it was 20 years ago (69%) and 10 years ago (67%) when white was the home colour.
