How to make cute/easy curtains?
I have big windows and i am looking to redecorate. I have many windows in my home so i was thinking of trying to make my curtains myself. I priced some curtains i like but they were $49.99 each and i would need 2 panels on each window and i have 9 windows to cover..could get pricey. I want something cute like not cheap looking but easy to make. Any suggestions? Should i go with just flat curtains or should i have 2 flat panels with the sheer behind it and the valance layover? LOL i don’t have many people over my house because i am redoing it so i would like it to be eye friendly and not ugly. Thank you for any help!!
With that many windows and them being big, I think you would be better off watching for a good sale or checking the “Domestications” website. Nice, drapery quality fabric gets really pricey..and with that much yardage…youch! If you know what type/color fabric you want check eBay! One time I was working on a project and got 18 yards of heavy duty, beautiful, tapestry upholstery fabric for under $30. and it was 54″ wide! But give this idea a try…I’ve made alot of curtains/drapes and for my last project ~for 2 patio doors~I used jaquard textured FABRIC SHOWER curtains! They ended up beautiful, and I got them at Dollar General Store for 10 buck a piece. It took 4 of them, buy hey, that’s still cheap!LOL Then I even bought an extra one and used it to make a table cloth and some accent pillows! So, I would just shop around and weigh my options if I was you:) Curtains are the easiest thing in the world to make. You can even use “iron~on” velcro if you don’t sew~
