Does anyone know where the Walde Hotel is (East Germany)?
I found a beautiful hotel/lodge in East Germany while driving from Belgium to Ukraine in the 90′s. It was called the Walde and sat back in the pine forest near a Jewish Holocaust memorial site. There is a lumber yard there and in the little town, there is an outdoor bowling alley too. Please any help would be much appreciated! I’d like to know the name of the town and approximately where it is.
Ok, I actually think I found it the other day. It’s called the Hotel am Wald in Monheim. As I remember there is a lumber yard/saw mill right up the road from it a lake or pond and a small outdoor bowling alley. http://www.hotelamwald.de/index2.html
It’s almost impossible to locate a certain hotel by the information you provided so far. Fomer East Germany isn’t a small area, and “Walde Hotel” doesn’t sound correct. Probably you’re looking for a “Waldhotel” (= forest hotel), and this name isn’t unique enough for locating it. Please try to provide some additional information so I can continue my search.
