Are Pinch Pleated sheers difficult to sew?
I have sewn a Shower Curtain, blanket and throw pillows, but that is about the extent of it. I’m just wondering if I should tackle this project or not?
They’re not too difficult, but do take time and patience. Instead, I like to use Pleater Tape that is available at fabric stores. You sew it onto the top of your curtain. It has slit-pockets every 3/4″ maybe. Then. you buy the hooks that you use to pleat the curtain. These are used to make the pleat and hang the curtain. They have four prongs that slip into the slip-pockets on the tape. You use one hook about every 4 inches. If you put the prongs in every other pocket, you get a deeper pleat.
This may sound complicated, but it’s very easy. Once you see the pleater tape what I’m saying should make more sense. The person at the fabric store would probably answer any questions you have. Hope this helps.
