window coverings for a bachelor living/dining room. I’m clueless!?
Okay, so I’m newly single and have to decorate for myself. my Living Room/dining room has very light beige carpet. Couch and Loveseat are a medium blue/cream stripe. I have an entire wall of 6 windows each one is 31wide by 48 long. I also have a slider (8 feet wide) and another window in dining area that is 5 feet wide by 48 tall. I have painted the entire area a very light grey. The kitchen (open to dining area, separated by a eatin counter) is a dark blueish/ grey. I am lost as to what to do on the windows. Blinds (which I hate)? curtains? I was thinking Tab Top panels, with a valance of some kind. But then I don’t know what color. As the room gets lots of light, I can go with darker coverings and the room will still seem big and open. But I’m lost on color. The blue in the couch is too light for curtains, would look too fem. Can I go dark blue? More gray? Brown? I’m lost! Please help! I’m moving in two weeks and really don’t want to be on view to the world!
I would 100% go with the same blue as the couch, it will tie everything together. And I cannot imagine a blue that would look feminine.
If you don’t want to be on view to the world, you need to have blinds or closed drapes, both of which will get rid of all that light.
I think what you want is cream sheers (thin, but obscure the view into your place), with light Blue Curtains over (left open, the light will come through the sheers). You can skip the valence, personally I find them fussy.
