Tailored Curtains
Can a tailor sew up fabrics to make curtains for me? If not, who would I need to go to?

A tailor may be able to do it, but probably not, they are very specialized. You need someone with experience in home decor. Most towns have drapery shops that will build custom items, but they are frequently not listed in the phone book or open to the public. Many drapery shop owners work directly with a selection of interior designers.

Go to a shop that specializes in home decor fabrics. They likely have someone in house or a cork board of referrals from which you can choose. You can check local listings for custom sewing businesses that state they specialize in draperies or home decor.

If you have trouble finding someone, I can probably work with you by mail (I’m in Florida, USA), but depending on postage, it may not be worth it. I have experience in both costume and drapery shops.
