In an extremely bright room, with a totally open concept, i have a tan brown rug?
What colors would you recommend for my couch, lounge/chaise, and color coordination. And I forgot to mention that i have green curtains? Send links if you’ve got pictures please.
Hmmm. Have you thought about throwing out the curtains and rug, and starting from scratch? Just kidding.
White comes to mind. Of course, we all know the problems that come with THAT color. If your fastidious, though, it could work for you. Especially if you get stain resistant furniture or vinyl.
Seeing that most people, even with the best intentions, still find white has a propensity for attracting dirt/stains regardless, you could invest in wicker furniture. Hey, it could work! Unusual would probably be a good pick.
What about leather? It’s expensive, but it would look nice. Add a look of quality and relaxation, all at once.
In either case, throw in some plants for decoration (something that is great on an open floor plan,) and you’ll feel great.
You could look for furniture where the wood is showing, whatever colors you go with, to draw your eyes up from the floor to the furniture. What about dying the curtains? Believe it or not, I’ve successfully done this before, with great results. The problem is, you can’t go lighter, only darker. The most you could do is tint the green colors with yellow for a yellow-green. I personally don’t like any form of yellow with brown.
My husband says you should replace the curtains and change the carpet. All he could think of was going brown or black. Darker, basically. I find this hard to justify with having a bright room that you should be able to capitalize on. That’s why I like white walls, white furniture, or furnishings that have a lot of wood or a natural look. You can keep the curtains then, too.
