Can you put two different valances in the same room?
I accidentally bought two different valances of the same design and style, but one is beige and one is a dusty blue. They both match my Living Room decor perfectly, and my husband says they look great up on the windows even though they’re not the same color, but I’m just not sure how I feel. Can you put two different colored valances in the same room?
We live in an apartment, so we can’t paint the walls. And the two windows are on adjacent walls.
Well I work at an Interior Design company, so from my experience we typically don’t mix and match them. In my opinion, I would keep the walls painted the way they are, otherwise it might look like opposite world and childish.
But, I think you can make it work. You said they both match your decor, and they’re of the same style, so what’s the problem? It’s different, but sometimes that’s a good thing. Don’t be concerned with how it looks if your worried about what your guest’s will think, if you and your husband like it, keep it! Tell people you meant to do it. I really don’t think it could look that bad, as long as the different colors are on different windows. I would leave it up and live with it for awhile, if you don’t like them then, return it and get what you really want.
