Tadpoles Toile 4-Piece Bib & Burp Cloth Set … |

Three questions about bedroom curtains and mini blinds?
1) My corner bedroom is not too large, with a window in the middle of the front and side walls. To make the room appear larger, should I go with curtains that go all the way to the floor, or just window length?
2) My room is a light Sage Green-I found curtains that are just slightly darker than the wall color, would that help the room look bigger or should I find darker curtains?
3) Are mini blinds in or out? I’ve had them on the windows now for many years with just a valance at the top.
1) I was really surprised when I saw how much higher the ceiling looked in a vacation mobile home when the curtains were installed closer to the ceiling. The valance filled in some of the wall space, and it gave the impression that the window was actually that high. I also personally like the look of longer curtains in most situations. You will probably want to think about how much light and cold or heat that you are trying to block, and it may just be a matter of personal preference.
2) The sage green sounds pretty. Honestly, I think you may have to experiment. The dark green curtains would probably help everything to flow together, but you don’t want to end up with a boring room either.
3) I’ve had mini blinds for years on many windows–with sheer or cloth valances or wooden cornices. I like the fact that you can control which direction you want the light to go or how much privacy you have. That being said, I have never found a mini blind that will completely darken a room that you might want to sleep in later in the morning.
Do you have a camera, and do you use a program like Photoshop? I have often taken pictures and then painted in what color I’m thinking of, etc. It helps. Also, I sometimes use the design tool on the JC Penney website, as you can see how different window treatments will look. Finally, have you ever looked at the HGTV website? I like to look at “Rate My Space”, “Color Splash”, etc.
Good luck! I know that it can be fun but challenging.
