if i took an all black window curtain and soak it into bleach will it tur white?
i have a black window curtain that i bought along time ago on eBay for about 6 bucks but now i want it to be all white to match the kitchen. so what if i took a bucket of bleach and soaked the black window curtain into. do you think it will turn to white after a couple hours? or what is the best way to turn it white
No. Even if it was 100% cotton it would still come out a funky grey. They use intense aniline dyes to get deep black and you will never get that stain out of the fabric. And if it is a synthetic (which most curtains are) it won’t release the color anyway.
Don’t waste the bleach (or expose yourself to the fumes — you do know that chlorine bleach is very poisonous and can kill you, I hope. I know someone who died of aplastic anemia caused by chlorine exposure.)
Curtains are cheap — just go buy a new one and sell your black set on Craigslist or Kijiji.
