Sister-in-law’s boyrfriend is making threats against us, What can we do?
Here is what has happened about six months ago my wife and I rushed over to her sisters apartment because she was crying hysterically on the phone. When we got their the apartment was trashed with furniture over turned, broken windows etc. My sister-in-law was bruised, her shirt was ripped and she was crying so we called the police. Now six months later she is still with this guy even though the abuse has been ongoing. Now he is making threats against my wife’s parents, me, and my wife. Just for toppers he also gave my sister-in-law clamydia and got her pregnant. What can we do?

I would file a police report as soon as possible and hold onto any threats that he has made on your answering machines, often these people aren’t that bright and leave messages like that.
Then get an order of protection, and the next time that he contacts one of you, call the police and have him arrested for violation of the order.
Also, to be safe, do not allow the women to go places alone, this guy may be watching them to catch them alone, if you can’t accompany them, get them a can of pepper spray or a stun gun, if they are legal in your jurisdiction, they will provide enough protection to get away from this individual.
Sometimes individuals such as these are all mouth, however, this sounds like an exception to the rule, and should be regarded as the threat that he is.
If the sister in law won’t leave him, there is nothing that you can do, there are women that are actually afraid to leave these individuals, for one reason or another, the pregnancy will only complicate matters.
The best thing to do is try and talk to her and get her to leave, because individuals such as this do not change, and she needs to find a safe place to go and stay and keep away from this guy, before he murders her or the baby, during one of his tirades.
